Heading

I remember when I received my first computer, an IBM PC Jr., from an Uncle who worked at IBM. I was immediately hooked on computing. That was in the late 1980s and that one introduction to technology spawned all manner of small and large life decisions that has led me now into my 40s. I was recently reading something on Hacker News which was a debate between the Twitter people, the Medium people, and some other weirdos about why anyone would maintain an old fashioned site off one of the major platforms. Reading the comments brought back the days of under construction icons, marquee and blink, and really the general excitement that we all experienced in those early days. My takeway from that HN thread was that it was time to go back in time and create a good ol’fashioned homepage. This site is my little fighting corner of the Internet to pushback on the corporate, advertising driven, privacy hating place this amazing social invention has become.

Will I update this frequently? I don’t know- maybe, maybe not. But it doesn’t matter, it will be mine, hosted one of the earliest Public Access UNIX Systems, The Super Dimension Fortress (Est. 1987).
